When a fun loving couple, one of whom is an extrovert working in the music industry, told me they were looking to throw the party of a lifetime for their family and friends, I knew without doubt that Emily and David’s wedding was going to be something special. 

As even the briefest glance at their wedding photos will show, this couple loves all things green, so their selection of wedding venue made perfect sense. Millwick, a renovated 80-year-old abandoned building in the heart of Los Angeles, puts the emphasis on sustainability. From the breezy courtyard to the skylight-sprinkled ceiling in the Grand Hall, this venue truly feels like an oasis in the midst of a bustling city. Emily and David’s big day was the perfect meeting of nature and city, as they had their first look in front of the Los Angeles cityscape and said their vows under a jaw dropping arch made of oversized ferns and monstera leaves. 

Yet even surrounded by eye catching, impressive décor, the little details drew my eye, such as a hand painted image of the newlyweds that served as a guestbook and the stunning jeweled fern hairclip worn by Emily that beautifully echoed the jungle around her.

As a more modest individual, Emily prefers to shy away from the attention of others, but in her intricately beaded gown, accented by the classy pop of a red lip, it was impossible for guests (and her husband-to-be) to do anything but stare! And the love on display between Emily, David and Emily’s young daughter (and flawless flower girl) made it impossible to look away. 

As guests danced the night away, silhouetted against a background of assorted movies (can it get any more Hollywood than that?!), my eyes and heart were full, and I wish Emily and David all the happiness in the world!
